Bahrain destroys 74 missiles, 92 Iranian drones since Saturday

The Bahrain Defence Force General Command has announced that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted and destroyed 74 missiles and 92 unmanned aerial vehicles launched as part of an ongoing Iranian terrorist aggression against the Kingdom, which commenced on Saturday (February 28).

The BDF General Command reaffirmed that it shall remain an impenetrable shield against all threats to Bahrain's security, stability, and national sovereignty. All defence systems are maintained at the highest state of readiness to counter any and all threats, reported BNA.

The General Command further stated that the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles to target civilian areas and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, most notably the principles of distinction and proportionality.

These indiscriminate and unconscionable attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security, it stated.

The BDF General Command also urges the public to remain indoors and to venture out only in cases of absolute necessity, exercising the utmost caution and vigilance at all times.

It appealed to the kingdom's residents to obtain information exclusively from official sources and also refrain from filming military operations. It also issued a warning asking the public to not circulate rumours and to keep far away from affected sites.
