The framework agreement for the financing of the second phase of the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Highway Development Project, estimated at nearly BD129 million ($340 million), has been approved by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, said a report.
Bahrain's Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has directed the Works Ministry to initiate the necessary procedures to implement the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Highway Development Project.
Bahraini authorities have announced that a major expansion of one of the kingdom’s busiest transport corridors is being fast-tracked with the next phase of the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Highway project expected to be tendered soon, pending royal approval of the financing agreement, said a report.
Bahrain is set to sign a major financing agreement with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to advance the work on Phase Two of the Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Highway project. The total cost of the second phase is estimated at BD128.6 million ($340 million), said a report.
