Qatar's top government body, the Amiri Diwan, has announced that the country's former emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, whose leadership transformed the Gulf state into a global energy powerhouse and raised its international profile, died on Sunday at the age of 74.
A boat carrying 61 migrants has sank off the coast of the eastern Libyan city of Tobruk, leaving 51 people dead or missing, said a report, citing the Al Abreen Foundation for Migrants and Humanitarian Services. Ten migrants survived the shipwreck while search is on for the remaining missing migrants.
