Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it is integrating sustainability measures across its infrastructure projects to help cut carbon emissions, boost resource efficiency and support the emirate’s clean energy transition as the emirate pushes ahead with its sustainability goals.
The European Commission stated that carbon dioxide emissions regulated under the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) decreased by 1.3 per cent in 2025, keeping the bloc on track to achieve its 2030 target of a 62 percent reduction.
Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) is strengthening its waste management strategy with the installation of a custom-built Power Knot LFC-3000 biodigester, one of the largest of its kind at commercial scale. Located at EKFC’s Central Commissary Unit, the system enables on-site treatment of organic waste, reducing the need to send food waste to landfill.
