The Rosen Group has completed the installation of a large-scale photovoltaic system at its corporate site in Lingen, Germany, marking a step in its renewable energy strategy.
Developed in partnership with Stadtwerke Lingen, the
two-megawatt solar installation represents an investment of around €2 million ($2.3
million) and is now fully operational.
Approximately 4,500 solar modules were installed across
nearly all suitable building roofs, covering around 9,000 square meters.
A smart energy management system enables demand-based
electricity use, with 98.7 per cent of generated power already consumed
directly on-site.
Further measures to increase self-consumption are under
review.
The project required extensive technical coordination,
including upgrades to the site’s energy infrastructure, the integration of
seven transformer stations, and the installation of around 21,000 meters of
cable.
Covering the company’s 35-hectare facility, the system ranks
among the region’s most significant renewable energy projects.
The companies have already announced plans for further
expansion, with around 1,000 additional modules expected to add 450 kWp of
capacity.
The project demonstrates the potential of regional
cooperation in advancing renewable energy and supporting the energy transition
in the Emsland region.
“By commissioning this system, we are reducing our CO₂
emissions while simultaneously strengthening our self-sufficiency in renewable
energy. The project is a key component of our sustainability strategy and
demonstrates how we are taking responsibility for the long-term development of
our company in Lingen,” said Carlos Sabido Ponce, Managing Director of Rosen Technology
and Research Centre.
“This project exemplifies the successful collaboration
between Rosen and Stadtwerke Lingen. We have been united by a partnership based
on trust for more than 40 years. We are all the more pleased that together we
were able to implement a solution that combines economic, environmental, and
regional interests,” said Thorsten Schlamann and Hermann Cordes, Managing
Directors of Stadtwerke Lingen. -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
