Eni discovered two new gas structures, Bahr Essalam South 2 and 3, off Libya’s coast. Drilled near the Bahr Essalam field, they are estimated to hold over 1 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas in place.
Eni and Q8 Italy announce a major strategic investment in the ongoing project for the construction of a new biorefinery in Priolo, Sicily. The transformation plan for the Versalis site in Priolo received formal approval from Eni and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Board of Directors, which follows the official binding offer submitted by Q8.
Eni has started production at the Ndungu full-field, part of the Agogo Integrated West Hub Project in Block 15/06 offshore Angola. The development includes seven production and four injection wells, targeting peak output of 60,000 barrels per day.
Mubadala Energy, the Abu Dhabi headquartered international energy company, has completed the acquisition from Eni of a 15 per cent participating interest in the Nargis Offshore Area (“Nargis”) concession, an offshore exploration block in Egypt.
Eni has discovered gas and condensate at Murene South-1X, Block CI-501, Côte d’Ivoire. Named Calao South, the find confirms the Calao channel complex’s potential, with estimated reserves of 5 Tcf of gas and 450 million barrels of condensate (approximately 1.4 billion barrels of oil).
Eni confirms an oil discovery in the Algaita-01 exploration well in Block 15/06, offshore Angola, approximately 18 km from Olombendo FPSO. Preliminary estimates indicate oil in place of around 500 million barrels. Block 15/06 is operated by Azule Energy (36.84 per cent), in partnership with SSI (26.32 per cent) and Sonangol E&P (36.84 per cent).
Abu Dhabi-based XRG has signed an agreement with leading Italian petroleum company Eni and Argentinian group YPF for the development of an integrated gas and liquefaction project on Argentina’s Vaca Muerta shale basin that will help position the country as a long-term global LNG supplier.
Eni, together with CDP Venture Capital, invested €550,000 ($654,750) and announced a collaboration with the startup EXE Engineering in the field of carbon offsetting initiatives in Africa. This new investment will enable the startup to accelerate its roadmap and support the expansion of its projects into new operating contexts, including international growth in Europe and Africa.
Eni has entered a long-term LNG sale agreement with Turkish company BOTAŞ, in line with the company’s strategy to grow a diversified global portfolio and secure stable, multi-year relationships in key international markets.
With the arrival of the Nguya FLNG floating liquefaction unit and the introduction of gas into the new offshore infrastructure system, Eni announces the start-up - ahead of the planned schedule - of Phase 2 of the Congo LNG project, with the goal of exporting the first LNG cargo in early 2026.
