Work has started on the new roads leading to Bahrain International Airport under the Phase 3A development project aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow to the airport. The scope of work includes construction of a bridge on Khalifa Al Kabeer highway.
Steady progress is being made on the Dubai Harbour Bridge Project with nearly 65% of the construction works already completed on the 1,500-m two-lane facility. Also, work related to the upgradation and adjusting utility services intersecting with the 1,500-m two-lane facility are nearing completion.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of Dubai International Airport Terminal I bridge expansion work. The scope of work included increasing the number of traffic lanes from three to four in a bid to raise the bridge’s capacity from 4,200 vehicles per hour to 5,600 vehicles per hour.
Bahraini authorities have announced that one of the kingdom's major infrastructure projects - Muharraq-Arad Bridge - has entered the preliminary design phase. The scheme is intended to boost access to East Hidd Town while easing traffic congestion across Muharraq, said a report.
