The UAE has rejected what it described as false information and “desperate media campaigns” targeting the country, including claims that it was cancelling labour residencies and providing financial facilities to Iran.

Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, said on X that several platforms were circulating false information about the UAE at a time when the country was focused on dealing with regional developments and preparing for the post-conflict phase.

“Some platforms targeting the UAE are circulating false information about the country,” Gargash said, adding that the UAE’s preferred response to such claims was through “work and tangible achievements on the ground”.

He specifically rejected rumours concerning the cancellation of labour residencies and the provision of financial facilities to Iran, describing them as “untrue information” and part of what he called desperate media campaigns.

“Facts and concrete achievements remain stronger than rumours, and work remains stronger than noise,” Gargash said.

Gargash did not identify the platforms or sources responsible for the claims, nor did he provide further details on the specific allegations.

The UAE announced earlier that it was suspending trade activities, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice, following heightened military tensions in the region.
