China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has signed a contract to build a key wastewater treatment plant in Kuwait, marking the latest infrastructure project under co-operation between the two countries through China's Belt and Road Initiative.

The North Kabd project is aimed at boosting Kuwait's capacity to collect, treat and reuse wastewater, supporting the country's Kuwait Vision 2035 economic development strategy.

The agreement for the North Kabd Wastewater Treatment Plant and Related Works Project was signed yesterday (July 26) at Bayan Palace in Kuwait, in the presence of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah and other senior officials from the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait.

Kuwait's Minister of Public Works, Noura Al Mashaan said the project would strengthen the country's wastewater infrastructure and help boost co-operation between Kuwait and China in infrastructure development.-TradeArabia News Service
