DTI rebrands as Pragma, focuses on well barriers

Downhole Tools International has rebranded as Pragma, marking a strategic shift toward the development and commercialisation of advanced well barrier technologies.

The move follows recent investment from FrontRow Energy Technology Group and BGF (Business Growth Fund) and signals a renewed focus on a three-tier well barrier portfolio led by the M-Bubble metal expandable barrier system.

The company said it is returning to its innovation-led origins while continuing to support existing coil tubing, wireline, slickline and cable-deployed tool customers.

Under the Pragma brand, the firm is investing in people, technology development and international expansion, strengthening its position in well integrity, water management and plug and abandonment solutions.

CEO David Stephenson, appointed in late 2025, has overseen a strengthened leadership and business development team.

Pragma is also relaunching its PKB and IX plug technologies, while prioritising global deployment of M-Bubble, particularly in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions sector.

David Stephenson, CEO, comments: “Rebranding as Pragma is about more than a change of name - it’s about reaffirming our focus on well barrier technology and the innovative approach upon which the business was founded. With the support of FrontRow and BGF, we’re in a strong position to grow M-Bubble whilst developing well technologies from concept through to commercial deployment, as we help operators tackle increasingly complex well integrity and water management issues.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
