Oman has completed about 82% of a project to dualise the road linking the Gas Roundabout and Bilad Sur Roundabout in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, reported ONA, citing the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The project forms part of the ministry's infrastructure development programme aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow in the governorate, it stated.

The road will connect the Qurayyat-Sur Road with Sultan Turki bin Said Road, formerly known as Al Sharqiyah Road, said the ONA report.

The ministry said it had already opened the first 11.4-km section of the project to traffic, improving safety and traffic movement along the route.
