Drake & Scull International (DSI) has announced that it has signed a framework agreement to provide engineering and construction services for key projects of Dubai-based Prestige One Developments.
Under the Strategic Collaboration Agreement, Prestige One will utilise DSI’s engineering and construction capabilities on selected upcoming developments, with a primary focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.
The framework enables early contractor engagement, technical co-ordination, and structured execution, supporting the anticipated award of MEP contracts to DSI over the coming period.
The collaboration provides DSI with forward visibility on anticipated MEP works over the next 12 months, said the company in a statement.
These expected awards are intended to support DSI’s order book strength and near-term revenue visibility, reinforcing its core contracting and engineering activities.
Long-term asset performance
Prestige One contributes its development expertise, while DSI brings engineering, MEP, and project execution capabilities.
According to DSI, this alignment supports coordinated delivery across design and construction, with an emphasis on quality, schedule discipline, and long-term asset performance.
The collaboration also establishes a structured platform for broader co-operation across future projects.
As part of this broader collaboration, DSI has announced the signing of a binding agreement between its wholly-owned subsidiary, Drake & Scull Real Estate Development and Prestige One Developments for Drake & Scull’s Majan commercial development in Dubai.
The project will be presented under a joint Drake & Scull - Prestige One identity, said the statement from DSI.
The MEP scope of the Majan construction works will be executed by its key subsidiary Drake & Scull Engineering. Prestige One will lead market positioning, branding, and sales execution, leveraging its expertise to support strong market traction. The arrangement also provides a basis for co-development participation in the Majan project, aligning development vision with delivery capabilities.
Egypt water infrastructure project
This comes close on the heels of its recent contract win for the rehabilitation and rebuild of a major water infrastructure project in Egypt through its wholly owned subsidiary, Passavant Energy & Environment GmbH (PE&E).
The German engineering firm has been awarded an exclusive sub-contract as part of the Tanta Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation Project.
The project scope includes a turnkey design-and-build of mechanical and electrical systems for both water and sludge treatment lines, with a strong emphasis on high operational reliability and minimal environmental impact.
The project involves the rehabilitation and rebuild of a wastewater treatment plant with a total designed capacity of 100,000 cu m per day. The new facility will be constructed adjacent to the existing 60,000 cu m per day plant, significantly expanding treatment capacity for the region.
As per the deal, Passavant Energy & Environment, a recognised specialist in sustainable water and energy turnkey solutions, will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of all process-related electromechanical systems and piping across the plant’s major structures.
In addition, the company will operate the facility for a two-year period, ensuring efficient performance while supporting capacity building through training of local personnel, said the statement from DSI.
The entire construction activities will be completed within 27 months, followed by 24 months of operation and maintenance under Passavant’s supervision, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
