Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech has partnered with Italian luxury fashion house Missoni to launch a new Missoni Resort Club at the resort’s Pool Garden, marking the brand’s first Resort Club in Morocco and the first luxury pool takeover of its kind in the region.
The collaboration
introduces Missoni’s distinctive design aesthetic to the Marrakech property,
transforming its Pool Garden with the fashion house’s signature zigzag
patterns, vibrant colours and Italian-inspired approach to luxury living.
The redesigned setting
features Missoni-branded parasols, cushions on daybeds and pool towels
incorporating the brand’s iconic zigzag motif. The design palette of navy,
turquoise, cream and vivid green complements the Pool Garden’s geometric
architecture, aquamarine and blue reflecting pools, and surrounding greenery.
The concept aims to
combine contemporary Italian design with the natural beauty and creative spirit
of Marrakech, creating an environment focused on relaxation, comfort and
poolside experiences.
Beyond its visual
transformation, the Missoni Resort Club extends the partnership into the guest
experience, incorporating playful and lifestyle-inspired details.
Missoni-themed playing cards add an interactive element, while the food and
beverage offering includes colourful ice lollies, candy floss and popcorn
inspired by the brand’s distinctive palette.
The collaboration
reflects Missoni’s expansion beyond fashion into interiors and lifestyle
experiences. Known for its textile innovation, craftsmanship and signature use
of colour and patterns, the Italian house has developed Resort Club concepts in
selected destinations worldwide, bringing its creative identity into luxury
hospitality settings.
At Mandarin Oriental,
Marrakech, the partnership also reflects a shared appreciation for design and
craftsmanship. The resort combines contemporary design with traditional
Moroccan artistry, evident in its architecture, interiors and support for local
artisans. Its cultural initiatives include M.O Studio, a dedicated space for
art and culture.
The launch comes as
Marrakech enters one of its most popular seasons for winter-sun travel. The
Pool Garden will retain its Missoni-inspired design for at least one year,
allowing guests to experience the collaboration throughout the seasons.
Guests can access the
Missoni Resort Club as part of a stay in one of the resort’s private pool
villas or through a Pool Day Pass, subject to availability and advance
reservation.
The partnership adds a
new lifestyle dimension to Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech’s leisure offering,
bringing together international luxury design, Moroccan surroundings and the
resort’s focus on distinctive guest experiences.
Alain-Thomas Brière,
General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, said; “From our earliest
conversations with Missoni, it was clear that the Pool Garden offered an
exceptional setting in which to bring our two worlds together. The
collaboration has evolved into something far richer than a visual
transformation: it brings a fresh energy to the space and creates a joyful,
immersive experience designed to be lived throughout the day. We cannot wait
for our guests and the Marrakech community to discover it.”
Alberto Caliri,
Creative Director of Missoni, said: “Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech is one of
those rare places where color already feels architectural. The Pool Garden has
a remarkable composition of water, light and vegetation, which made it an
incredibly inspiring setting for Missoni Resort Club. Our zigzags and colors
enter into a genuine dialogue with the landscape, bringing the Missoni
aesthetic into the resort's existing environment. Through this collaboration,
we aim to offer an experience that reflects the joyful identity of Missoni
while respecting the singular beauty of Marrakech.” -TradeArabia News Service
