Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Comexposium Middle East to explore bringing events from the international organiser’s portfolio to Bahrain in the coming years, supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional business events destination.
The agreement was
signed by Aage Hansen, General Manager of EWB, and Jawad El Hajri, General
Manager of Comexposium KSA & Middle East, on the sidelines of the 93rd UFI
Global Congress, held at Exhibition World Bahrain from November 2 to 5, in the
presence of Fatima Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism.
Sara Buhejji, CEO of
the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of EWB,
welcomed the partnership, highlighting its potential to introduce new
international event brands to the Kingdom and expand Bahrain’s growing events
calendar.
She noted that
Comexposium’s presence in Riyadh provides an opportunity for Bahrain to serve
as a complementary platform for the organiser’s wider development across the
Gulf region. The agreement also reflects increasing demand and interest from
exhibitors and visitors.
El Hajri said
Comexposium was pleased to establish the framework with EWB and explore
opportunities to bring its event brands to Bahrain. He highlighted the
Kingdom’s strategic location, business environment and modern venue
infrastructure as advantages for hosting international events.
He also reaffirmed the
company's commitment to working closely with EWB to identify suitable
opportunities and create value for exhibitors, visitors, partners and the wider
business community, complementing its regional development anchored in Riyadh.
The non-binding LOI
establishes a framework for both parties to assess potential events from
Comexposium’s international portfolio and identify opportunities that align
with the interests of Bahrain and the organiser.
The partnership supports EWB’s strategy to diversify its event calendar through collaboration with established international organisers, while contributing to the continued development of Bahrain’s business events sector. -TradeArabia News Service
