Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways today (August 8) operated its inaugural flight to Deir Ezzor, further strengthening its network in Syria and becoming the first to offer direct services between Kuwait and three Syrian cities.

With this new launch, Jazeera Airways is now the only airline operating direct flights between Kuwait and Damascus, Aleppo and Deir Ezzor. 

The airline operates 26 weekly flights between Kuwait and Syria, offering the highest frequency of service in the market and supporting travel for families, business travellers and visitors across both countries.

The inaugural flight highlighted a strong demand for direct connectivity between Kuwait and Deir Ezzor, said senior officials at the launch ceremony held in the presence of Tamim Madani, Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Kuwait, and Andrew Littledale, Chief Financial Officer at Jazeera Airways.

The duo joined passengers to mark the occasion and welcomed them with traditional Syrian coffee and local delicacies during check-in.

Speaking at the launch, Madani said: "The launch of the first direct flight between Kuwait and Deir Ezzor marks another important milestone in strengthening the longstanding ties between Syria and Kuwait. We appreciate Jazeera Airways’ continued commitment to reconnecting our communities and providing travelers with greater convenience, accessibility and choice through its growing network to Syria."

Paul Carroll, the Chief Commercial Officer of Jazeera Airways, said: "The launch of Deir Ezzor reflects our continued commitment to strengthening connectivity between Kuwait and Syria and responding to the needs of our customers."
