Fugro Survey India has secured a three-year contract from Vantage International Management Company to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV)-based deepwater drill support services for ONGC’s offshore drilling operations in India.
The contract will support drilling and completion activities
at water depths of up to 3,000 metres aboard Vantage’s Platinum Explorer drill
ship, as part of ONGC’s deepwater exploration programme aimed at expanding
domestic energy resources and strengthening India’s energy security.
Fugro will deliver comprehensive subsea ROV services,
including subsea installation and intervention support, drilling and completion
assistance, blowout preventer and well-control monitoring, cementing
observation and seabed inspections.
The company will deploy its FCV3000 ROV system to provide
reliable support in challenging deepwater conditions, helping ensure safe,
efficient and continuous drilling operations throughout the campaign.
The project highlights Fugro’s role in supporting offshore
energy development through advanced subsea technology and expertise.
“This project reflects strong collaboration and trust
between Fugro and its partners to support a strategically important deepwater
drilling programme in India,” said Sriram Sreenivasan, Business Line Manager
for Marine Asset Integrity at Fugro in the Middle East and India. “By bringing
specialist ROV expertise and reliable subsea support, Fugro is helping enable
safe, efficient operations while contributing to the success of complex
offshore developments.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
