CANNON Artes has secured a new contract to engineer and supply an advanced water treatment plant for the Shuqaiq Power Plant, a 3 GW combined-cycle gas-fired power project in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan region.
The project is being
delivered for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors
Orascom Construction and Técnicas Reunidas, with Saudi Electricity Company
(SEC) as the end client.
Located on the
Kingdom’s Red Sea coast, the power plant is expected to support growing
electricity demand and strengthen the reliability of Saudi Arabia’s power
generation infrastructure.
The contract marks
another milestone in CANNON Artes’ longstanding collaboration with the two EPC
contractors, building on the successful delivery and performance of its water
treatment systems for the Hajr Expansion power project.
For Shuqaiq, the
company will provide an integrated water treatment solution designed to meet
the plant’s operational requirements, combining advanced membrane-based
technologies to ensure reliable treated water production while improving
efficiency, operational stability and resource management.
The system will
incorporate desalination, water purification and polishing technologies,
supporting a consistent water supply throughout the facility’s operational
lifecycle. Such systems are increasingly important for power infrastructure in
water-stressed regions, where water availability and quality are critical to
industrial performance.
Mauro Monti, Area
Manager at CANNON Artes, said: “This new project represents an important
continuation of our collaboration with Orascom Construction and Técnicas
Reunidas. The experience gained at Hajr has created a strong foundation for
this new cooperation. We are pleased to contribute once again to a major power
infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia with a water treatment solution
engineered to meet demanding performance and reliability requirements.” -TradeArabia News Service
