The UAE General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat has confirmed that Eid Al-Fitr prayers will not be held this year in open prayer grounds or outdoor spaces, and will instead be confined to mosques across the country in line with the measures adopted by the UAE to ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.
Leading developer Emaar has inaugurated three new mosques across its master-planned communities in Dubai that can accommodate more than 1,300 worshippers. With these latest openings, the total number of mosques delivered across Emaar developments has now reached 20.
Master-developer Nakheel has unveiled the design for the Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque, a landmark project that will form the spiritual and cultural heart of the island. Designed by global architecture practice Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), it can accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers.
