Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) and Silal Group, a leading agri-food and technology company in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, have signed a Service Level Agreement. 

This will strengthen data exchange, develop statistical capabilities and support informed decision-making in Abu Dhabi’s agriculture and food sector.

The agreement was signed by Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director General of Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi, and Dhafer Rashed Al Qasimi, Group CEO of Silal, on the sidelines of Silal’s participation in Global Food Week 2026, taking place from October 6 to 8 October at Adnec Centre Abu Dhabi. 

Shared commitment

The signing reflects a shared commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and leveraging data as a key enabler of food security and agricultural innovation.

Alqemzi, said: “Our partnership with Silal brings sector data and statistical expertise together to support planning for Abu Dhabi’s agriculture and food sector. Through structured data exchange and the development of statistical capabilities, we will work together to build a more comprehensive understanding of the sector and turn data into insights that inform decisions.”

He added: “This partnership reflects our commitment to an integrated statistical ecosystem that responds to Abu Dhabi’s priorities and supports its efforts to advance food security and sustainable development.”

Operational ecosystem

Al Qasimi said: “At Silal, we continue to strengthen our operational ecosystem to make it more resilient and sustainable, supported by accurate data that enables us to make timely and efficient decisions across different stages and circumstances.”

He added: “Our strategic partnership with Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi reflects a shared vision to strengthen the use of reliable data, enabling us to establish a long-term roadmap based on a structured approach to data collection and analysis, and to develop strategies and policies that support the sustainability of food security in the UAE.”—TradeArabia News Service
