Buraidah (Al-An'am) Livestock City, one of Saudi Arabia's prominent hubs for livestock trading, is attracting sellers and buyers from across the kingdom.

This boosts commercial activity and supports food security objectives, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.

Spanning 632,000 sq m, the city features dedicated areas for trading camels, sheep, cattle, poultry, and fodder. It also includes comprehensive service and commercial facilities that help organise sales operations and provide a suitable environment for all stakeholders.

Significant commercial activity

The city receives approximately 488,735 head of livestock annually, showing the significant commercial activity taking place there and its role in supporting livestock supply chains at the regional and national levels. During Eid Al-Adha in 1447 AH, Buraidah Model Slaughterhouse recorded the slaughter of 4,682 imported livestock and 16,164 local livestock.

Beyond stimulating livestock trade, the city creates around 600 seasonal job opportunities, supporting economic activity and diversifying employment opportunities.—TradeArabia News Service
