Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al Sairafi called for stronger tourism cooperation and integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, as she chaired the 10th meeting of GCC tourism ministers in Manama.
Al Sairafi said continued support from GCC leaders is key to
advancing joint tourism efforts and promoting development and prosperity across
the region.
She said the meeting offered an opportunity to build on
progress in GCC tourism cooperation, strengthen the sector’s resilience and
reinforce the Gulf’s position as an integrated and competitive tourism
destination regionally and internationally.
The meeting addressed initiatives to accelerate tourism
recovery, strengthen joint promotion, develop GCC tourism packages and expand
the region’s presence in international markets.
Ministers also discussed tourism data, joint marketing
campaigns, a unified tour guide licence, hotel classification guidelines and
the selection of the GCC Tourism Capital for 2027. -TradeArabia News Service
