Bahrain Tourism Minister calls for stronger gulf tourism cooperation

Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism Fatima Al Sairafi called for stronger tourism cooperation and integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, as she chaired the 10th meeting of GCC tourism ministers in Manama.

Al Sairafi said continued support from GCC leaders is key to advancing joint tourism efforts and promoting development and prosperity across the region.

She said the meeting offered an opportunity to build on progress in GCC tourism cooperation, strengthen the sector’s resilience and reinforce the Gulf’s position as an integrated and competitive tourism destination regionally and internationally.

The meeting addressed initiatives to accelerate tourism recovery, strengthen joint promotion, develop GCC tourism packages and expand the region’s presence in international markets.

Ministers also discussed tourism data, joint marketing campaigns, a unified tour guide licence, hotel classification guidelines and the selection of the GCC Tourism Capital for 2027. -TradeArabia News Service
