Dubai's Hatta crossing trade value triples to $10bn in H1

Dubai's Hatta Customs Crossing recorded a 175% increase in the value of trade handled during the first half of 2026, as shifting regional trade routes boosted overland traffic through the emirate.

An important overland gateway between Dubai and Oman, the Hatta Crossing serves passenger and commercial traffic between the Gulf states.

Trade value through the crossing tripled to AED37.1 billion ($10.1 billion) in the six months to June, from AED13.48 billion a year earlier, according to the customs authority.

The number of loaded trucks crossing Hatta rose 160.1% to 108,811 from 41,831 in the same period last year, highlighting increased overland trade flows through the crossing.

The figures come as changes in global trade patterns, shipping routes and supply chains reshape regional commerce and increase demand for alternative transport corridors, stated the Customs Authority.

The increase in trade and traffic reflects the role of Hatta in facilitating overland commerce between Dubai, the wider Gulf region and international markets, it stated.

Abdulla bin Damithan, chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said maintaining supply-chain continuity and investor confidence had become increasingly important as global trade patterns change.

"In a world where the map of trade is changing at an unprecedented pace, the ability to ensure the continuity of supply chains and strengthen investor confidence has become one of the most important pillars of economic competitiveness," he added.
