Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Sara Buhiji attended the Concours of Elegance 2026 at Hampton Court Palace in the UK, using the event to promote Bahrain as a destination for international tourism and high-profile events.
The event brought
together collectors, experts and enthusiasts to showcase a selection of rare
and historic automobiles from around the world.
Buhiji highlighted
Bahrain’s growing presence at international tourism events and its ability to
combine its cultural identity with world-class event experiences.
She credited the
support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His
Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime
Minister, with strengthening Bahrain’s position as a regional and international
destination for major events.
During the event,
Buhiji presented the BTEA Award to the 1939 Voisin C30 Saloon, one of only five
surviving examples worldwide and the only one retaining its original
distinctive bodywork.
The Royal Bahrain
Concours Award was presented to the 1933 Aston Martin Le Mans, considered one
of the most historically significant surviving Aston Martin cars.
Buhiji said the awards
reflected Bahrain’s commitment to celebrating automotive heritage,
craftsmanship and design, while highlighting cooperation between BTEA and
Thorough Events, organiser of both events.
Bahrain’s pavilion
showcased the Kingdom’s cultural heritage through traditional handicrafts,
entertainment performances and interactive experiences, while promoting key
tourism destinations and experiences.
The participation also
provided a platform to promote the second edition of the Royal Bahrain
Concours, scheduled for November 6-7 at the Royal Golf Club in Riffa under the
patronage of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The event is organised by
Thorough Events in collaboration with BTEA.
Buhiji said the 2026
edition will build on the inaugural event, featuring rare, classic and
contemporary vehicles from around the world, alongside leading car clubs from
across the GCC.
The two-day event will also offer entertainment and experiences highlighting Bahraini hospitality and culture. Buhiji invited international collectors, enthusiasts and visitors to attend the Royal Bahrain Concours 2026 and experience the combination of automotive heritage and Bahraini hospitality. -TradeArabia News Service
