Dhofar Khareef visitors rise 6.9pc to 472,449 in 2026

Oman’s Dhofar Khareef season attracted 472,449 visitors between June 21 and July 31, 2026, marking a 6.9% increase from 442,100 visitors during the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Omani visitors accounted for the largest share at 76.3%, reaching 360,531, up from 334,399 in 2025.

GCC visitors rose to 78,356, representing 16.6% of the total, compared with 69,801 a year earlier.

Visitors from other nationalities stood at 33,562, or 7.1% of the total, down from 37,900 in the corresponding period of 2025.

Air arrivals increased 9.6% year-on-year to 117,551, compared with 107,254 last year, while visitors entering through land ports rose 5.9% to 354,898 from 334,846.

July accounted for the overwhelming majority of visitors, with 451,355 arrivals between July 1 and 31, representing 95.5% of the total.

The figure was 7.1% higher than the 421,506 visitors recorded in July 2025.

During the opening period from June 21 to 30, Dhofar received 21,094 visitors, compared with 20,594 during the same period last year.

The figures underline continued growth in visitor numbers during the annual monsoon season, which transforms Dhofar’s landscape and remains a major tourism draw for domestic and regional travellers. -TradeArabia News Service
