Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, has launched daily flights between Riyadh and Dhaka, marking its entry into the Bangladeshi market and its ninth operating destination since beginning operations on June 10, 2026.

The inaugural flight arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on August 8 after departing King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh the previous evening.

The route is operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring premium seating, advanced in-flight entertainment and Riyadh Air’s signature Saudi hospitality.

The new service links two major commercial centres and targets strong demand on one of the Middle East’s busiest international corridors.

IATA data ranked Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia as the ninth-largest country-pair passenger market serving the Middle East in the first quarter of 2026.

The route is expected to support business, tourism and religious travel, including Umrah and Hajj, while strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.

Dhaka also provides access to Bangladesh’s major apparel and textile industries, as well as its cultural and tourism attractions.

Flights will operate daily in both directions, while Riyadh Air’s growing network will provide onward connectivity to destinations including Jeddah. -TradeArabia News Service
