The Seventh Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda called for accelerated, integrated action to turn climate and sustainable development commitments into results.

Participants highlighted that aligning climate strategies and development plans could make public spending up to 40 per cent more effective, reported SDG Knowledge Hub.

Held in Bangkok from June 29-30, 2026, the conference brought together ministers, UN officials, negotiators and stakeholders amid rising environmental pressures, geopolitical challenges and slow progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Discussions focused on scaling partnerships, strengthening implementation systems and advancing solutions across areas including climate justice, clean energy, sustainable cities, nature-based solutions and a just transition.

Participants stressed the need for increased climate finance, stronger local engagement, people-centred policies and greater ambition to accelerate delivery before the 2030 deadline.
