SalamAir reports 80pc on-time performance in Q2 2026

SalamAir, Oman's Low-Cost carrier, has announced its On-Time Performance (OTP) results for the second quarter of 2026, recording an OTP of 80.01%, representing an improvement of 15.01% compared to Q1 2026 and reinforcing its commitment to operational transparency, reliability and customer trust.

OTP is an internationally recognised measure of punctuality, calculated as the percentage of flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time.

Between April and June 2026, SalamAir operated 5,723 flights, carrying 634,415 passengers across its growing domestic and international network.

Adrian Hamilton-Manns, Chief Executive Officer of SalamAir, said: "Our Q2 performance reflects the dedication and professionalism of our teams across the airline. Despite a challenging operating environment, including regional geopolitical developments that affected airspace availability and flight operations across the region, we improved our on-time performance from 65% in Q1 to 80.01% in Q2. This achievement demonstrates the resilience of our operation and the agility of our teams. As we continue expanding our fleet and network, delivering a dependable, efficient and affordable travel experience remains at the heart of everything we do."

He added: "Q2 also marked another important milestone in SalamAir's growth journey. During the quarter, we welcomed our 16th and 17th Airbus A320 aircraft, launched direct service to Vienna, resumed flights to Almaty and completed preparations for the launch of Medan. With our 18th aircraft scheduled to join the fleet in mid-July we continue to strengthen Oman's connectivity, create new opportunities for tourism, trade and investment, and provide our guests with greater travel choice. As demand continues to grow, we remain focused on sustainable expansion while supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040." -TradeArabia News Service
