Foreign tourist spending in South Korea hit a record 1.41 trillion won (around $911 million) in May, rising 73.7% year-on-year, according to the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO).
The figure marks the third consecutive month that inbound
visitor spending has exceeded 1 trillion won.
Shopping accounted for the largest share of expenditure at
39.1%, followed by beauty and wellness (21.1%), fashion (14.3%), and lifestyle
food (11.9%), according to KTO data cited by Yonhap News Agency.
