Air India Express has received a 4 Star World Airline Rating from Skytrax after its first full audit, marking a milestone in its ongoing transformation of guest experience and service standards.
The rating places the airline among a select group in India
and West Asia and just one step below Skytrax’s 5 Star elite category.
Skytrax awarded the rating based on consistent performance
across onboard service, airport experience, and operational quality, noting
strong alignment with customer expectations and professional cabin service
delivery.
The recognition comes amid a major expansion and
modernisation of Air India Express, including the rapid induction of a
fuel-efficient fleet now exceeding 100 aircraft, with a large share being
new-generation planes.
The airline has also upgraded cabin interiors, seating
comfort, and onboard services, including hot meal options.
Operating more than 500 daily flights, Air India Express
connects 42 domestic and 17 international destinations across Asia, reflecting
its growth into India’s second-largest airline by network scale in the low-cost
and short-haul segment.
The airline also reported a significant rise in customer
satisfaction, with its Net Promoter Score tripling to record levels,
underscoring improved passenger loyalty and the success of its transformation
strategy.
Commenting on the recognition, Nipun Aggarwal, Chairman, Air
India Express, said, “Earning a 4‑Star Skytrax world airline rating in our very
first audit is a meaningful validation of the transformation of our guest
experience and the tremendous work our teams have delivered. In a short period,
we have built scale with discipline, modernised our fleet, strengthened service
delivery and clearly defined Air India Express as a value carrier in a class of
its own. The guest advocacy, NPS and social media sentiment reassures us that our
enhanced product and service proposition resonates with the aspirations of a
new India that values choice, comfort and reliability. While this recognition
is inspiring, the 4‑Star rating is not a destination, but a strong
foundation as we continue to raise the bar for industry standards and deliver
consistent, high‑quality experiences.” -TradeArabia News Service
