Welltec has agreed a multi-year intervention contract through an alliance partner to support Equinor operations, in an agreement estimated to exceed NOK 1 billion ($108 million) for the fixed period only.

The award which was signed on April 27 ensures the continuation of a long-standing collaboration with Equinor in which Welltec provides cutting-edge intervention services to Gullfaks and Statfjord fields amongst others.

Welltec’s presence on the Norwegian Continental Shelf reaches as far back as when the company was first established. 

“Equinor is a long-standing client of more than 30 years, and it was with Equinor that the first-ever Well Tractor operation was conducted at Welltec’s very beginning”, says Tommy Eikeland, Chief Commercial Officer at Welltec. 

“Since then, we’ve forged an excellent collaboration through a common goal for safe and efficient operations, continuously improving through technology, and we very much look forward to continuing this journey together”, adds Eikeland. 

While the original agreement included optional extension periods of three times two years, the current award represents a firm three-year extension, providing continued operational continuity and visibility, with an additional two times two optional period.-OGN/TradeArabia News Service
