Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Commerce has announced the recall of 33,250 vehicles from Toyota and Lexus, covering various models, due to a programming defect in the electronic parking assistance control unit.

The defect may cause the rear camera image not to appear on the display screen when reversing, increasing the risk of accidents, said a Saudi Press Agency report.

The ministry urged owners of the affected vehicles to contact their local dealer, Abdul Latif Jameel for Toyota vehicles, at the toll-free number (8004400055) and for Lexus vehicles at the toll-free number (8001220022) to have the necessary repairs performed free of charge.

It also advised vehicle owners to check if their vehicle identification number (VIN) is included in the recall campaign by visiting the Defective Products Recall Center's website at https://recalls.sa.
