Massive fire after Iranian drones hit fuel tanks at Kuwait Airport

An Iranian drone attack struck fuel tanks ‌at Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, sparking a massive fire but causing no casualties, Kuwait's state news agency KUNA said.

The fuel tanks, which belonged to the Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (Kafco) have sustained significant damages in the attack.

The latest of several attacks on the airport and fuel storage there came as the US-Israeli war on Iran broadens with Tehran's strikes on Israel and Gulf Arab states that host US military installations, said the report citing Abdullah Al Rajhi, the Official Spokesperson for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

The emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately began responding to the incident, he added.

This is the second Iranian drone attack targeted at the fuel depot in Kuwait International Airport after last week's similar strike. The incident which occurred on March 25 early morning caused a blaze at the site.

The attack had caused material damage but no casualties, he noted, citing preliminary reports.
