Ampo Poyam Valves has supplied a wide range of critical cryogenic valves for the Caofeidian Xintian LNG Receiving Terminal, one of the key projects within China’s national natural gas production, supply, storage and transportation system.
The terminal is
located in Caofeidian District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, and has a
designed annual LNG unloading capacity of 12 million tonnes.
Developed in three
construction phases, the facility will be equipped with 20 LNG storage tanks,
each with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters.
The project’s EPC
contractors are CNOEC for Phase 1 and HQC for Phases 2 and 3, while the end
user is Hebei Gas, a government-owned company.
Ampo Poyam Valves has
delivered valves for all three phases of the project between 2022 and 2025,
supplying equipment installed in the main regasification units as well as in
the LNG storage tanks, with most of the valves already in operation.
In total, more than
200 Ampo Poyam valves have been supplied for the project.
The scope includes top
entry ball valves, both manually and actuator operated, ranging from low to
high pressure classes (Class 150 to Class 1500) for cryogenic service.
A key milestone within
this supply is the 32”-1500# Top Entry Cryogenic Ball Valve, one of the
largest, most complex and critical valves installed in the regasification unit,
said the company.
In addition, Ampo has
supplied gate, globe and check valves, highlighting axial flow check valves up
to 26”-150# and 14”-1500#, designed to ensure reliability and safety in
demanding LNG operating conditions.
All valves supplied
for the Caofeidian Xintian LNG project are TSG certified, a mandatory
safety approval required by the Chinese government for valve installation and
operation in China.
Furthermore, Ampo’s Field
Engineering Service team actively supported the project with on-site
commissioning and start-up services, providing approximately two weeks of
assistance to ensure correct installation and smooth operation. -TradeArabia News Service
