Cirque du Soleil’s Corteo to debut in Bahrain

The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced that as part of the Kingdom’s upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday celebrations, Cirque du Soleil’s internationally acclaimed production, Corteo, is set to debut in Bahrain for the first time, offering audiences gravity-defying acrobatics, striking visuals, and powerful storytelling.

Organised in collaboration with Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, Corteo will be staged at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) from March 22-28, reported BNA.

Sara Buhiji, CEO of BTEA, commended the selection of the Kingdom as the first destination on Cirque du Soleil’s Gulf tour of the show.

She highlighted that Corteo offers a fun and interesting experience for the whole family.

Attracting a production of this global calibre underscores our continued commitment to advancing the objectives of the Kingdom's Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, and highlights our strategic partnership with Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre.

Bringing such high-profile international events to Bahrain helps strengthen its position as a premier hub for cultural and entertainment experiences in the region.

Damian Bush, CEO of Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, said that Corteo by Cirque du Soleil is a production that blurs the line between dream and reality, and said they are part of the collaboration that is bringing the performance to Bahraini audiences for the first time.

He noted that the aim is to enhance the region’s live entertainment offerings by introducing immersive, internationally recognised productions.

He added that the collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and the BTEA exemplifies a shared objective to position the Kingdom as a destination of choice for world-class productions.

Ali Haidary, CEO and Founder of SES Live!, said the Kingdom has firmly positioned itself as a leading cultural and entertainment destination in the region, supported by a forward-thinking vision and world-class infrastructure.

He noted that this collaboration with BTEA and Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre is the perfect platform to welcome Cirque du Soleil to the Kingdom for the very first time and for it to launch its Middle East tour.

Haidary added that Corteo represents the scale, creativity, and global calibre of experiences that today’s audiences are seeking, and said they are proud to be part of this landmark moment that places Bahrain at the heart of the region’s live entertainment landscape.

Widely acclaimed as one of Cirque du Soleil’s most captivating shows, Corteo blends breathtaking acrobatics, evocative music, and striking visual design into an unforgettable theatrical experience celebrating imagination, wonder, and the human spirit.
