Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled major enhancements to its private island, Great Stirrup Cay, in the Bahamas, highlighting the nearly 6,000-square-metre Great Life Lagoon.

The new pool area, larger than two Olympic-sized pools combined, features a beach-style entrance, splash zones for children, two swim-up bars for adults, and surrounding private cabanas with ocean and pool views.

 Adults seeking a premium experience can access the Vibe Shore Club, offering private cabanas, a bar, and an exclusive beachfront retreat.

 Families will also enjoy Splash Harbor, a complimentary kids’ splash pad, along with a new Welcome Centre and tram system for easy island exploration.

A new pier further enhances accessibility, making the island experience seamless and enjoyable for all guests.

 Looking ahead, NCL will debut the Great Tides Waterpark in summer 2026, featuring 19 waterslides—including the tallest slides in the Tidal Tower—high-speed racing slides, spiralling tubes, and body slides.

The park will also offer a 244-metre dynamic river, an 836-square-metre kids’ splash zone, and Cliffside Cove with cliffside jumps and racer slides. Conveyor belts on select slides will simplify access for guests.

These upgrades support NCL’s plans to welcome over one million guests to Great Stirrup Cay in 2026 across 17 ships.

Norwegian Aqua, offering seven-day Caribbean voyages from Miami and Orlando, will sail through October 2027, while the new Norwegian Luna will debut in March 2026, providing similar seven-day itineraries to the Dominican Republic, US and British Virgin Islands.
