A hybrid flexible pipe is set to transform ultra-deepwater exploration by reducing top tension weight by 40 per cent, unlocking previously inaccessible reserves. The noncorrosive system combines metallic tensile wires and thermoplastic composite pipe to improve flow, durability and deployment flexibility across standard vessels.
