Logitech launches new portfolio focused on AI-powered meeting rooms

Logitech has introduced a new range of enterprise collaboration products, marking what the company describes as the largest enterprise product launch in its history, as businesses look to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into meeting rooms and workplace technology.

The portfolio is led by the Rally Bar 2, Rally System 2 Pro and a new audio technology called Sound Shape. The products are designed to support meeting spaces of different sizes, with a focus on AI processing, automated room management and improved audio and video performance.

The launch reflects a broader shift in enterprise technology, as IT teams seek to improve hybrid meeting experiences while preparing workplace infrastructure for more AI-enabled applications.

“This second generation of smart video collaboration devices is Logitech’s answer to a new, dual mandate for IT: Deliver exceptional meeting experiences today while preparing for an AI-powered tomorrow,” said Henry Levak, general manager of Team Workspace Solutions at Logitech.

Murad Ali, head of Middle East and Central Asia at Logitech for Business, said intelligent meeting technology could help organisations manage collaboration across geographically dispersed teams while making better use of their meeting spaces.

Rally Bar 2 brings more AI processing to meeting rooms

The Rally Bar 2 succeeds Logitech’s earlier Rally Bar, featuring a Qualcomm chipset that the company says delivers four times the edge AI processing power of various competing video bars.

The device combines a custom-designed lens with a one-inch sensor for image capture, alongside Logitech’s RightSound 3 technology, which uses AI to improve audio performance.

Built-in sensors can detect room occupancy and support automated meeting-room booking when people enter a space. The resulting occupancy data can also help organisations assess how meeting rooms are used and inform decisions about office space.

The device is designed for installation by a single person and features an aluminium unibody construction intended to make recycling easier.

Rally Bar 2 is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms and Google Meet. It also runs on Microsoft’s Device Ecosystem Platform, or MDEP, which Logitech says combines Microsoft’s enterprise security standards with its own collaboration features.

Modular system targets larger, more complex spaces

Logitech is also targeting a persistent challenge for corporate IT departments: equipping large, multi-purpose and divisible meeting spaces with consistent collaboration technology.

The Rally System 2 Pro is a modular solution intended to simplify installations in these environments, particularly where multiple technology vendors and complex room configurations are involved.

According to Logitech, such spaces can account for a disproportionate share of IT support and deployment work despite representing only a small part of an organisation’s overall floor space.

The new system extends the company’s enterprise offering beyond conventional meeting rooms, with the aim of providing a more unified approach to collaboration technology across small and extra-large spaces.

Sound Shape aims to improve audio coverage

The third major element of the launch is Sound Shape, an audio technology incorporated into the Rally Speaker 2 Pro and Rally Speaker 2 Max.

Designed for environments such as executive boardrooms and training rooms, the technology uses focused acoustic beams to direct sound towards listeners across a room.

Logitech says the system can provide more even sound distribution across spaces measuring up to 20 metres, or approximately 65 feet. The company positions the technology as an alternative to some complex ceiling-mounted speaker arrays traditionally used to achieve broad audio coverage.

With the new portfolio, Logitech is seeking to address a wider range of enterprise collaboration requirements, from everyday video meetings to large, specialised spaces. The emphasis on onboard AI processing, room sensing and directional audio highlights how meeting-room equipment is evolving beyond basic video conferencing towards more automated workplace systems.  -TradeArabia News Service
