US crude oil production is expected to hit a record 13.8 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2026, surpassing the previous high of 13.7 million b/d set in 2025, according to the US Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) latest Short-Term Energy Outlook.
Venezuelan interim President Delcy Rodriguez said that a new energy agreement with the US will remain in force for 25 years, targeting crude oil production of more than 1.5 million barrels per day (bpd) while preserving Venezuela’s sovereignty over its natural resources.
