Talgo, a leading Spanish company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed lightweight rail vehicles, has been awarded a contract to manufacture and maintain 20 new high-speed trains for Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR).
Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of UAE's national railway network, has awarded multibillion-dollar design-and-build contracts for the civil works and station packages of the high-speed railway (HSR) line connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai, a MEED post in LinkedIn said.
The Saudi cabinet has lauded the high-speed electric train project linking the Kingdom and Qatar, which will support transportation, boost tourism and economic activity.
