The Langham, Hong Kong launches Pandora-inspired tea set

HONG KONG, August 1, 2018

The Langham, Hong Kong is adding an extra touch of sparkle this summer with the launch of a new afternoon tea set in partnership with Danish jewellery brand Pandora.

Inspired by Pandora’s latest High Summer collection, the indulgent tea set features a variety of tempting sweet and savoury treats and is available at the famed Palm Court lobby lounge.

Paying tribute to Pandora’s exquisite yet playful designs, the afternoon tea set is beautifully presented, with the sweet items served in an elegant white and pink leather box that recalls the brand’s distinctive jewellery boxes, while the savoury items and scones arrive in a traditional three-tier English afternoon tea stand. Each delicacy, meanwhile, is inspired by a specific charm from Pandora’s High Summer 2018 collection or by the brand’s signature style.

Available in classic and deluxe versions, both tea sets feature an array of delicately wrought delights expertly crafted by The Langham, Hong Kong’s talented executive pastry chef David Puig. Those with a sweet tooth are particularly spoiled for choice. Murano Glass Charm is a light coconut mousse cake with mango and lime jelly, and shredded coconut dacquoise. Bath in the Heart Love with pistachio and white chocolate mousse, cherry insert and Iranian pistachio sable. Grab a Drink to Go with rhubarb and strawberry confit, mixed berries mousse and milk foam. Stay Cool with Greek yoghurt mousse, passion fruit “Flan” and Matcha green tea sponge cake, while indulging in the Delicious Popcorn with Ecuador 40 per cent milk chocolate cremeux, cocoa biscuit, gianduja Chantilly and caramelised popcorn.

The alluring assortment of savoury items includes Sustainable salmon and scallops dome with caviar and homemade beetroot bread; Cajun free-range chicken roulade with pumpkin purée; Organic Egg Salad with Picked Beetroot and Corn Bread; and the Rainbow coleslaw and apple salad with pastrami and honey mustard dressing that mirrors the latest Burger & Fries charm.

Guests who opt for the deluxe menu will also enjoy the Colour Wheel, a wonderfully whimsical creation made from French macaron and yuzu ganache that resembles one of the standout pieces from Pandora’s new collection, as well as a glass of Perrier-Jouët, NV, Brut bubbly.

All tea sets come with warm plain and raisin scones fresh from Palm Court’s very own bakery served with Devonshire clotted cream, strawberry jam and rose preserve.

The Pandora Afternoon Tea is available at Palm Court on weekdays from 3:00 - 5:30 pm, and on weekends and public holidays in two sittings, from 2:15 - 4:15 pm and 4:30 - 6:30 pm. The classic tea set is priced at HK$348 ($44.3) for one person and HK$598 ($76.1) for two persons, while the deluxe set is priced at HK$528 ($67.2) for one person and HK$888 ($113) for two persons. All prices are subject to a 10 per cent service charge. - TradeArabia News Service
