Abu Dhabi-based Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S),  a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for gas turbines and driven equipment, has announced engine maintenance contracts with three major international airlines.

Wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, TS&S has added Atlasglobal, Yemen Airways and Asiana to its network of international customers, the company said on the sidelines of Farnborough International Airshow 2018

Commenting on the announcement, Mansoor Janahi, acting chief executive officer at TS&S, said: “Rapid advances in technology and a strong forecasted growth in air travel are bringing business prospects to the forefront. TS&S has seen a threefold increase in business volume in the last four years, and has serviced more than 300 engines for both local and international customers. The MRO services on the V2500 engines that power the Airbus A320 fleets flown by Atlasglobal, Yemen Airways, and Asiana will be conducted at the TS&S world-class MRO complex in Abu Dhabi. The facility is approved by International Aero Engines (IAE) as an overhaul base, and remains the only V2500 engine repair facility in the Middle East and North Africa region.

In addition to its MRO services, TS&S acts independently as a third-party market supplier, as well as a sub-contractor, to IAE’s global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers. Through the support of nearly 300 specialists of 30 different nationalities, TS&S has inducted over 175 V2500 engines since 2014.

As part of its core MRO functions, TS&S also specialises in overhauling the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 that powers the Airbus A330, as well as the GEnx engines that are carried on the Boeing B747 and B787 aircraft. The business is also embracing digitalisation to ensure that operations remain as efficient as possible, having already integrated Voice Recognition and Smart Connect Assembly technology throughout its operations. - TradeArabia News Service
