Bahrain celebrates National Day with pride and in style

The Kingdom of Bahrain today (December 16) is celebrating its National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne with pomp and gaiety.

The King will patronise a ceremony this afternoon at Sakhir Palace which will serve as a platform for him to express his pride in the nation’s advancements and his aspirations for Bahrain’s future, reported BNA.

The streets, roads, buildings, and prominent landmarks across the kingdom were adorned in white and red to mark the occasion and the accompanying national events.

The decorations, which covered numerous buildings, high-rise towers, commercial complexes, and government and private institutions across the governorates, included images of His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as excerpts from His Majesty’s speeches delivered on various national occasions.

These displays reflect His Majesty’s pride in the contributions of the people of Bahrain and underscore His Majesty’s commitment to the Kingdom’s sustainable development.

Governorates and municipalities also installed illuminated displays, images, and panels highlighting the significance of the national celebrations in fostering loyalty and belonging to the Kingdom, said the BNA report.

The lighting at intersections, squares, trees, and palm trees created impressive artistic displays, complemented by panels featuring congratulatory messages and slogans that reflect national values, identity, and profound attachment to the homeland.

The decorations throughout the Kingdom were implemented using the latest lighting technologies, creating visually striking and aesthetically refined displays that reflect the importance and symbolism of the national celebrations, it added.
