Faulkner to headline DXB music festival

DUBAI, June 26, 2018

For the first time, Dubai International Airport (DXB) will be the host of a 10 hour music festival across the airport's terminals, headlined by British singer-songwriter, Newton Faulkner.

The festival, featuring a line-up of talented artists from around the world, will be held from June 28 to 29, catching the peak travel hours of one of the busiest weekends of the year - so far.

Faulkner, whose double platinum debut album was released nearly a decade ago, will be celebrating the launch of his sixth studio album, Hit The Ground Running, here in the UAE during his visit. Having completed sold out tours across the UK, Europe and Australia, he is heading to DXB to perform his hit songs 'Dream Catch Me' and 'I Need Something', along with the new single and first to be released here, 'Fingertips', at the musicDXB 10 Hour Takeover in Concourse B near to gates B24-32.

On other stages around the airport will be locally nurtured talents like singer Stephon LaMar, who is originally from North Carolina but has called Dubai home for five years. LaMar has opened for the likes of Enrique Iglesias in front of 30,000 people. Also on the bill is Aman Sheriff, who recently supported the Stereophonics at Media City Amphitheatre and the bluesy vocals of Jay Abo, who was recently shortlisted as Best Original Act award at the Time Out Dubai Music & Nightlife Awards 2018.

The musicDXB 10 Hour Takeover will start from 19:00 on June 28, where Sheriff will play in Concourse D. Over in Concourse B, Faulkner will take the stage at 23:00 and excite and entertain travellers through to the early hours. LaMar will perform in the link corridor between Concourse B and C from 00:30 on the morning of June 29, followed on the same stage by a trio of Arabic musicians and then closing the festival from 03:00 will be Jay Abo. - TradeArabia News Service
