Gulf Air backs Dreams Society with children’s initiative

MANAMA, May 21, 2018

Bahrain national carrier Gulf Air recently partnered with Dreams Society, a non-profit organisation established in 2011 with a mission to fulfil the dreams of children affected with terminal illnesses and debilitating diseases, .

A number of young children and their parents visited the airline’s headquarters, meeting with Gulf Air chief executive officer, Krešimir Kučko and Gulf Air deputy chief executive officer Captain Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi, along with other members of the airline’s executive management team and members of Dreams Society's Board of Directors. The guests were then taken on an exclusive guided tour of a Gulf Air aircraft where Senior Captain Mohammed Felaifel introduced them to different flight concepts, while each child took turns to experience the cockpit. Aircraft Maintenance supervisor Eman Hameed Mandeel discussed various technical aspects of flight and the airline’s onboard crew entertained the children, distributing gifts and meals to all.

Kučko welcomed the children, their parents and Dreams Society Board members including chairman of the Board, Eman Nooruddin, saying: “As the national carrier of Bahrain, and an integral national infrastructure asset, Gulf Air prides itself on having a special connection with the Bahraini community. We are honoured to have collaborated with Dreams Society and played a part in making these young children’s dreams come true. At Gulf Air, we take our responsibility towards the greater community very seriously and we were both privileged and humbled to welcome our young guests. We hope that this event helped spread joy and fun in all.”

Al Alawi said: “Gulf Air is involved in various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a number of local organisations. Such initiatives reinforce our commitment to being a responsible global citizen and reaching out to those in need. At Gulf Air, our goal was to contribute to an atmosphere of fun for both the children and their families and to support the Dreams Society in their worthy cause. In this instance, it was a pleasure to meet these highly gifted children and we hope they enjoyed themselves during their visit.”

Aysha Fakhro, vice chairman of Dreams Society, said: “It is our pleasure to collaborate with a pioneer organization like Gulf Air and we thank all those who contributed to make this event a memorable experience for Dreams Society's children.”

Gulf Air has supported Dreams Society in the past with complimentary tickets to the Bahrain Grand Prix – giving children the opportunity to attend and enjoy this key motorsport and racing event. - TradeArabia News Service
