Turkish Airlines honours Kuwait travel agencies
KUWAIT, May 7, 2018
The Turkish Airlines office in Kuwait recently held its annual Travel Agencies Awards ceremony, honouring the support and contribution of its partners to the carrier's growing passenger demand.
In 2017, Turkish Airlines recorded an impressive 45 per cent growth in passenger traffic, reiterating the brand’s successful business model and resilience to market fluctuations.
Held for the seventh consecutive year, the annual gala dinner event was held at JW Marriott Hotel in Kuwait City amongst local dignitaries, corporate partners, employees, media and other key stakeholders. Fourteen travel agencies received plaques of appreciation for their substantial efforts in boosting passenger traffic from Kuwait across the airline’s 302 worldwide destinations. Agencies were awarded in four different categories – ‘Total Sales’, ‘Best Beyond Business Class Sales’, ‘Best Beyond Economy Sales’ and ‘Highest Sales Increase’.
Displaying outstanding performance, 10 agencies received plaques of appreciation for ‘Total Sales’ wherein Al Deera Travel agency ranked first place, Jumbo Travel agency ranked second and Eternity travel agency came in third place. ‘Best beyond Business Class Sales’ award was presented to Boodai Aviation and ‘Highest Sales Increase’ award was bagged by Kuwait Star Travels who ranked first followed by ITL Travels coming in second place. Al Deera Travel agency was recognised again under the ‘Best Beyond Economy Sales’.
Sami Aydogan, general manager for Turkish Airlines in Kuwait, said: “Turkish Airlines has become a leading choice for both business and leisure travellers from Kuwait and we continue to exceed customer expectations, strengthen our network and steadily grow our market share locally. Travel agencies are an important partner for us and we come together every year to honour their contribution and celebrate our joint successes. This is also a fantastic opportunity to solidify our ties as we start yet another year of fruitful partnerships.”
Owing to the significant increase in passengers from Kuwait on Turkish Airlines, there are now four flights daily from Kuwait City to Istanbul. In 2018 alone, Turkish Airlines launched three new destinations - Aqaba in Jordan, Freetown in Sierra Leone and Samarkand in Uzbekistan - and is soon restarting direct flights to multiple sought-after destinations in Turkey including Izmir, Bodrum, Trabzon, Antalya and Samsun. - TradeArabia News Service
