Dubai Parks hits new daily visitor numbers record

DUBAI, April 25, 2018

Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest integrated theme park destination, welcomed over 36,000 visitors for its second annual “Big Day Out” festival on April 20, setting another daily visitation record.

This follows the previous record set in December 2017, when daily visitation approached 27,000 in the last week of the month. Dubai Parks and Resorts attracted close to 2.3 million visits in 2017 and achieved 851,000 visits in Q1 2018, a 45 per cent increase when compared to the same period last year.

Ahead of the event, Dubai Parks and Resorts surprised over 10,000 radio listeners with tickets to its three theme parks and water park to enjoy over 100 rides and attractions from exhilarating rollercoasters to interactive shows and live performances from some of the world’s most loved movie characters. Everyone who had won or bought a ticket on the day got the chance to enter a raffle draw to win a remarkable five-night stay at Lapita Hotel, the Polynesian themed family hotel within the destination.

The “Big Day Out” event saw radio stations and celebrity radio show hosts from across Dubai, broadcasting live from the destination. While guests were entertained with a host of fun and exciting acts by professional fire artists, magicians, and stilt jumpers, the festival culminated in a firework spectacular that lit up the sky above Riverland Dubai, the free to enter themed recreational hub with a multitude of dining, shopping and unique entertainment options.

Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest theme park destination, features Motiongate Dubai – a unique theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate – and Bollywood Parks Dubai, a first-of-its-kind theme park that showcases rides and attraction based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters. It also hosts Legoland Dubai, a unique, interactive theme park which brings the well-known Lego brick to life, in addition to the Legoland Water Park. The entire destination is connected by Riverland Dubai. Guests can stay at the Lapita Hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
