DOHA, November 8, 2017
Hamad International Airport (HIA) was recognised as the “Best Airport in West Asia” for the third time in a row at the Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards 2017 in Singapore on November 7.
The awards celebrate airports and airlines that have displayed customer experience and innovative leadership.
The third FTE Asia Awards ceremony took place at FTE Asia Expo 2017 held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and recognised HIA’s continued commitment to delivering the highest standard of service to its passengers. Winners were selected by a panel of industry executives from around the world.
Commenting on the award, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, chief operating officer at HIA, stated: “We are honoured to receive the “Best Airport in West Asia” award for the third consecutive time, which recognises our state-of-the-art facilities and five-star services. HIA will continue to work towards delivering sophisticated and innovative solutions that offer an unparalleled travel experience.”
On his part, Daniel Coleman, founder of Future Travel Experience, said: “The FTE Asia Awards reward organisations for their end-to-end customer experience achievements. Since 2014, HIA has been setting the standard for the modern day airport experience and we are pleased to witness what it has been able to achieve in a short period of time.”
Combining cutting-edge technology, world-class sculptural art curated in partnership with Qatar Museums, and an extensive hospitality and retail offering, HIA has successfully established itself as a leading international hub.
FTE was established in 2006 and is an independent events and online media business dedicated to improving the end-to-end passenger experience. FTE hosts four annual events around the world – FTE Global, FTE Asia EXPO, FTE Europe and FTE Ancillary – which have been attended by more than 3,000 senior air transport and travel industry figures in 2017. The FTE Asia Awards were launched in 2015 with the aim of recognising outstanding airports and airlines that are dedicated to improving the end-to-end passenger experience. - TradeArabia News Service
