Kempinski Hotel Muscat in Oman

Kempinski to open hotels in UAE, Oman

GENEVA, October 22, 2017

Kempinski continues to strengthen its foothold in the Middle East's luxury segment with two new properties scheduled to open in Oman and UAE in 2018.

“Our hotels in the Middle East and Africa feature some of the most iconic luxury properties in the Kempinski portfolio and our upcoming openings, including Emerald Palace Kempinski Palm Jumeirah Dubai Hotel and Kempinski Hotel Muscat, are sure to fulfil this brand promise,” said Henk Meyknecht, chief operating officer, Middle East and Africa.

“At the same time, we are applying increasingly higher standards across our portfolio and, as a result, Kempinski Hotel Ajman will exit the portfolio as of January next year,” he said.

In line with the long-term vision for Middle East and Africa, Kempinski targets operating luxury hotels in each key city within the GCC, as well as actively expanding presence through selective growth in exciting destinations in Africa.

Opening its doors for business in Q1 of 2018, Kempinski Hotel Muscat in Oman will stand in the Al Mouj community. Guests to the property will be able to enjoy two kilometres of beach; Oman’s only signature PGA standard 18-hole golf course, designed by Greg Norman; as well as the 400-berth Al Mouj Marina – Oman’s largest private yachting hub.

Kempinski Hotel Muscat will house 310 rooms with 40 suites and two presidential suites, each with a private swimming pool, as well as eight F&B outlets. Standing next to the property, the Kempinski Residences will offer 77 serviced apartments for long stays and leasing.

In Dubai, Emerald Palace Kempinski Palm Jumeirah Dubai is expected open its doors in Q2 2018. The property will complement the Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah, which opened in 2011.

As well as 389 rooms and suites, the luxury hotel will comprise six F&B outlets; a 175-sq-m indoor swimming pool; the largest private cinema on Palm Jumeirah with 80 seats; 500-m of private sandy beach; and the 3,000-sq-m Cinq Mondes spa, which houses 24 spacious treatment rooms and two private spa suites. - TradeArabia News Service
