Passengers flood Qatar Airways offices for refunds

MANAMA, June 7, 2017

Chaos descended on the Qatar Airways offices across the GCC as passengers rushed to the airline's centres for refunds following a diplomatic row between major GCC states and Qatar.

Passengers with existing bookings queued up and waited for hours outside the airline's offices in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt to find out whether they would be re-routed on alternate flights or get their money back.

Passengers who were stranded in Saudi Arabia were offered a reroute flight to Doha via Muscat on Oman Air.

Panic arose after flights between the GCC states and Qatar were suspended on Tuesday and the Qatar Airways' office were ordered to be closed in 48 hours.

The airline has advised passengers who have booked through the its website to visit www.qatarairways.com/us/en/refund-request.page to submit a refund request.

The airline also announced on its website that affected passengers would be given alternative options. - TradeArabia News Service
