Marassi Al Bahrain introduces ‘Sunset Sessions’

MANAMA, April 6, 2017

Marassi Al Bahrain, the kingdom’s unique waterfront project situated in Diyar Al Muharraq, launched its ‘Sunset Sessions’ entertainment lineup, which promises to create a relaxed atmosphere every weekend with genre tunes from a number of local talents.

Complementing them will be performances by fire jugglers, water acrobats, and other carnival acts beginning this weekend.

Sunset Sessions will feature a rotating lineup of musicians every weekend for the next several weeks. On Thursday evening Farooq Flamenco will treat audiences to classical Spanish and flamenco music, while one of Bahrain’s most exciting up-and-coming musicians, Mo Zowayed, and his trio, have came back from their US tour to perform some of their most popular songs.

Mo Zowayed returns on Friday afternoon (April 7) to perform some of the mellower ballads in his repertoire, as Ravens, a talented group consisting of both veteran and new musical talents, play a wide range of styles including reggae, funk, and blues, accompanied by Bahraini vocalist, May Alqasim. Also playing on Friday is the Two Man Groove Band.

Visitors on Saturday afternoon (April 8) will be treated to the soothing melodies of Alqassim Jazz Dueto, featuring local veteran jazz musician, Ahmed Alqassim, while the Refiners, a trio of top local musicians, perform their highly-refined brand of jazz and funk to cap the weekend activities.
A DJ and a number of solo instrument artists will also provide added musical flavours to the performances. More beach activities will be added to the programme soon.

Entrance fees to Marassi Beach are BD4 per adult and BD2 per child.  A portion of the entrance fees is redeemable against furniture rental. The entrance fee will include access to the beach and the entire Marassi Weekends lineup of activities and performances.

Marassi Al Bahrain’s Beach continuous to regularly host exciting activities and events for the public as part of #MarassiWeekends. It has hosted many festivities including a local vendor market, art and photography exhibitions, food festivals, and fitness sessions.

The project’s Sales Centre, located within the site of Diyar Al Muharraq, showcases interactive models of the mixed-use development for interested buyers. Spanning 878,000 sqm, Marassi Al Bahrain will be constructed on the northern shores within the master planned community of Diyar Al Muharraq, forming a key luxury component of Bahrain’s largest private urban project. Set to become one of the Kingdom’s major shopping, family entertainment and dining destinations with 180,000 sqm of gross floor area, Marassi Galleria will attract the world’s leading brands, many for the first time in Bahrain.
